Calumet Farm 18 Year is a barrel-proof Kentucky straight bourbon at 59% ABV, in a 750ml decanter. It marks the centenary of Calumet Farm, founded in June 1924 in Fayette County, Kentucky.
The mashbill is 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley, matured for 18 years in new American white oak barrels with a heavy number 4 char. The barrels came from Barton Distillery, and the bourbon is non-chill filtered.
The nose offers toasted oak, caramel, pipe tobacco, leather and black cherry. Toffee, butterscotch, baking spices and black pepper lead the palate, and the finish is long, with dark chocolate, aged leather and rye spice.
