Ten High is a Kentucky sour mash bourbon from the Barton distillery, part of the Sazerac Company, bottled at 40% ABV. This is the 1.75 litre handle size. It is matured in white oak barrels and carries no age statement.
The name refers to barrels stored at least ten ricks high in the warehouse. The current label reads Bourbon Whiskey with Natural Flavors, and the whiskey has won a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is brown sugar and caramel corn with light grain, thin oak, faint vanilla, banana and a hint of lemon. The palate is light-bodied, with oak, brown sugar, vanilla wafer and soft banana. The finish is short, with fading sweetness and grain.
