Calumet Farm Single Rack Black 16 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for 16 years and bottled at 53% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and was distilled at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown.
Each batch is drawn from just 19 barrels taken from a single center-cut rack in the warehouse. The mashbill is 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley.
The nose is roasted coffee and hot cocoa with almond, caramel, dusty oak and a touch of tobacco. The palate moves from cinnamon spice to dark chocolate, coffee, oak and dark cherry. The finish is long and drying, with toasted toffee, leather and chocolate.
