Campbeltown Loch is a blended malt that brings together malts from the three active distilleries of Campbeltown. The whiskies matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks before being married at Springbank and bottled at 46%.
It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The style is lightly peated, with the smoke becoming clearer only in the finish.
The nose is led by butter and a touch of sea salt, with ginger cake and pecan pie. On the palate come creamy coffee, salted caramel, date syrup and crystallised brown sugar. The finish brings more peat smoke and, in time, a note of leather.
