Canadian Mist Canadian Whisky (175cl, 40%)

Canadian Mist is a triple-distilled blended Canadian whisky from Collingwood, Ontario, bottled at 40% ABV in a 1.75 litre bottle. It won a Double Gold Medal at the 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The grain comes from close to the distillery: barley malt from Alberta, Ontario rye and corn grown within 100 miles. Grain and rye whiskies are blended with a measured addition of sherry, and the water is drawn from Georgian Bay. The nose shows faint oak, soft vanilla, mild fruit and a little citrus zest. The palate is soft and sweet, with toffee and caramel, then rye spice and light oak. The finish is clean and moderate, with vanilla, oak and a touch of bitter lemon zest.
