This Caol Ila is a 10-year-old Islay single malt from the eighth release of Claxton's Warehouse No. 1 Series. It matured in an STR hogshead and was bottled at a cask strength of 58.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
STR stands for shaved, toasted and re-charred, a reconditioning process given to a former red wine cask before it is used for maturation or finishing.
