This is an 11-year-old single malt from the Caol Ila distillery, from the 2011 vintage and finished in Bordeaux wine casks.
The wine finish sits alongside the smoky, maritime character typical of Caol Ila, setting the peat of Islay against the influence of Bordeaux. The three stages of cask maturation in wine casks are said to add depth.
