This Caol Ila is a nine-year-old single cask whisky from Islay, bottled by Douglas Laing under its Old Particular label at 56.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a Ruby Port cask, and the outturn is 565 bottles.
The nose brings Black Forest cherry cake and coal dust. The palate is sweet peat with ripe summer fruits, juicy blackcurrant and barley. The finish is sweet and lingering, with plenty of spice and smoke.
