Caol Ila Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt that starts from the same 12 years in oak as the Caol Ila 12 Year Old, one of the Classic Malts.
It then spends a further six months in casks that previously held Moscatel, a sweet Spanish wine. The Moscatel adds depth and delicacy to the whisky, and the vintage varies from one bottling to the next.
The smoke and iodine of the Islay malt are joined by fine notes of honey, grape and jasmine.
