Caol Ila – Moch (43%)

Caol Ila Moch is a single malt from the Caol Ila distillery on Islay, bottled at 43%. Moch means dawn in Gaelic, and the whisky is peaty and marine in character. The nose is full of sea air, with medicinal notes, Islay peat smoke and the scent of a freshly extinguished wood fire. The palate is soft and strongly briny, with a slight acidity that comes through gradually, and the peat sits alongside the medicinal notes. The finish is short, dry and warm, with a little bitterness, smoke, cinnamon and spice.
