This is a Caol Ila single malt from Islay, bottled by Cooper's Choice in 2023 at 44.5%. It was finished in Port wood, and the cask gave 660 bottles.
Called Smoking Blackberries, it combines Islay's smoky character with the fruit and sweetness of the port finish.
The nose has intense peat smoke, ripe blackberries and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, sweetness from the port meets smoky notes, spice and a light, salty sea breeze. The finish is long and full, with a touch of oak and berries.
