This is an 18 year old peated single malt from Caperdonich, bottled at 48% ABV. It was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak casks.
The peated spirit is the distinctive part: it was made at the distillery for only a short period.
Caperdonich was founded in 1897 by James Grant in the Speyside village of Rothes, built as a sister distillery to Glen Grant and first known as Glen Grant #2. It closed in 1902 and reopened in 1965, when it was renamed Caperdonich, a Gaelic name meaning secret well.
