This is a 50 year old single cask Speyside single malt from Caperdonich, a distillery that closed in 2002. It comes from Duncan Taylor's The Rarest collection and was bottled in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was distilled on 10 October 1969 and matured in cask 3253 until it was bottled on 30 April 2020 at a natural cask strength of 47.9%. It has no added colouring and was not chill-filtered. The release yielded 88 bottles. The nose combines creamy malt sweets, vanilla and ripe fruit with old oak. On the palate come caffè latte and caramel syrup, with cinnamon, dried apricots, apples and pears. The finish is very long and harmonious, with sweet toffee and toasted oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
