A single malt from Caperdonich, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2019 after 27 years in oak. It is bottled at 56% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and is one of 90 bottles.
It belongs to The Octave Premium Series, in which whisky is held in sherry casks to deepen its flavour. An octave is about an eighth of the size of a butt and yields roughly 80 to 100 bottles.
The nose is complex, with herbal and menthol notes and stewed berries. The palate is waxy, with sweet fruit, oak, more berries, a hint of pink grapefruit, red apples and sweet spice. The finish is long and warming, with spiced oak.
