Caperdonich – 39 Year Old 1972 Connoisseurs Choice

This is a 39 year old Caperdonich, distilled in 1972 and bottled in 2011 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a single first-fill sherry butt. The Speyside distillery was known locally as Glen Grant No. 2 when the whisky was distilled, and it has been closed since 2002. The whisky is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. Its character is described as orchard fruit with rich sherry, dark fruit, chocolate, spice and polished oak.
