Cardhu – 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Cardhu 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was long in family hands and run by two strong women. It was founded under the name Cardow, Gaelic for black rock, and the spelling changed to Cardhu when the first single malt was released, which is closer to how the name is pronounced. The aim was a mild, easy-going malt, and it sold best in France and Spain. The taste is described as warm and pure, often called silky.
