Cardhu – 16 Year Old Special Release 2022 (20cl)

This is a 16 year old single malt from Cardhu, bottled in a 20cl size for the 2022 Special Releases from Diageo. The name comes from the Gaelic Carn Dubh, meaning the black rock, and the distillery's whiskies are made with a relatively long distillation. The theme of the 2022 releases was Elusive Expressions. The Cardhu legend tells of the ancient black rock beneath the distillery, which one day let out a thunderous crack and released a stream of tropical warmth, creating an exotic paradise around the site. At midnight the chasm closed, but the lively whisky distilled that day remained.
