Casamigos Mezcal Joven (75cl)

Casamigos Joven is a mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, made from 100% Espadín agave grown for eight to nine years and produced by a fourth-generation family of mezcaleros. The piñas are cooked for four to six days in earthen pits lined with volcanic rock, then crushed by a horse-drawn tahona wheel. After fermenting for two to eight days, the spirit is twice distilled in covered copper pot stills and rests for up to two months. It is crystal clear, with tamarind, pomegranate, fresh mint and dried oregano on the nose. Smoke and black pepper run through the palate into a long, silky finish.
