Casey Jones Amburana Finished Barrel Cut Whiskey (56.4%)

Casey Jones Amburana Finished Barrel Cut is a limited-edition American spirit from Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, bottled at 56.4% (112.8 proof). It is made from a 50/50 mash of corn and cane sugar, so it is not a traditional bourbon. The spirit is aged first in charred white oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage, then re-barrelled in Brazilian Amburana oak casks. The nose is sweet, with cinnamon, toasted oak, baking spices, crème brûlée and barrel char. The palate is full-bodied, with butterscotch, spiced brown sugar, vanilla bean and a woodsy depth. The finish is long and velvety, moving from caramel to rum-like vanilla, with a little ginger heat.
