This is a limited release from Casey Jones Distillery in Kentucky. It is made from a mash of half corn and half cane sugar, so it sits close to bourbon in style without being a conventional one. After ageing in the usual way, it is moved into Brazilian Amburana oak casks to finish.
It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 112.8 proof, or 56.4% ABV, in small batches.
The nose brings cinnamon, toasted oak and baking spice. On the palate come oatmeal raisin cookie, butterscotch and spiced brown sugar, and the finish is warm and velvety, with a sweet, woody depth.
