Casey Jones Black Label is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon from the Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville, where Arlon 'AJ' Jones distils on a square copper pot still, a design inherited from his grandfather. The mash bill is 80% corn, 16% rye and 4% malted barley. It was aged for at least three years in new, charred American white oak barrels and is bottled at 90 proof (54% ABV).
The nose is spicy, with toasted oak, delicate corn, caramel, vanilla and dried fruit. The palate is lively and creamy, with honey and toasted corn, then spice, dark berries and tobacco. The finish is long and sweet, with lasting heat, maple and nutmeg.
