Cask 88 A Tale of Two Banffs is an 11 year old single cask Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, created in collaboration with the Banff Whisky Experience. It marks the link between Banffshire in Scotland and Banff in Alberta.
The whisky was distilled in 2011 and spent nine years in ex-bourbon wood, followed by two more years finishing in Oloroso sherry octaves. It is bottled at a cask strength of 56%.
The nose brings red fruit, citrus, fruit gums and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and dry, with firm tannins, rich malt and savoury spice. The finish is very long, with oak spice, gentle sweetness and a hint of tropical fruit.
