A honey and chile flavoured rye whisky from Catoctin Creek in Virginia, sold in a 75cl bottle. It began as a Barrel Select release in 2022 and has since become a permanent addition to the range.
The base is the distillery's pot-stilled, 100% rye whisky. Three local Virginia honeys (wildflower, clover and buckwheat) are added, along with an infusion of chile peppers. Real honey is used, so honey dominates the aroma and flavour and gives the whisky a pleasant viscosity.
It is sweet and smooth, and the peppers bring a little heat as it is sipped.
