This is a single cask rye from the Catoctin Creek distillery in Virginia, bottled undiluted at a cask strength of 58% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The spirit is distilled in copper pot stills from a mash bill of 100% rye, then matured in new American white oak.
Rye dominates the nose, with vanilla and caramel from the new oak. The palate is powerful and carried by dry spice, leading to a long, full finish.
