A Chichibu single malt distilled in 2017, matured in a single bourbon cask and finished in a cider cask. It is one of 213 bottles, in a 70cl bottle, from the distillery in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, founded by Ichiro Akuto's Venture Whisky.
The nose combines tropical fruit with a slight rancio note, burnt caramel over apple pie, red berry coulis, cinnamon, grapefruit and spiced orange. The palate is oily and semi-dry, with orchard fruit, hops and mature oak. The finish lasts 15 to 20 seconds, oaky and slightly earthy, with barley, fruit and malt.
