Chichibu – 4 Year Old 2009 SMWS 130.1 (2013)

A 4 year old Chichibu from Japan, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2013 as SMWS 130.1. It was the first Scotch Malt Whisky Society release from the distillery, and the first from cask code 130. Ichiro Akuto distilled it a year after the stills were first fired up. The spirit was filled into a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel and bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The outturn was 227 numbered bottles. The notes describe vanilla cream, toasted coconut and bright citrus, with orchard fruit.
