A Japanese single malt from Chichibu Distillery, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2012. This limited edition of 8800 bottles was matured in bourbon casks and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The barley was malted by hand on a malting floor, which gives the whisky an earthier barley character.
The nose offers fresh malt, green apple and a little lemon, with vanilla, honey and gentle spice. On the palate it is creamy, with caramel, peach and roasted nuts, plus cinnamon and a touch of white pepper. The finish is medium in length and soft, with vanilla, light wood and citrus sweetness.
