Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a limited Japanese single malt created by Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu distillery in Saitama prefecture, which was established in 2008. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in carefully chosen former wine casks, and that wine influence shapes its aroma and structure.
The nose offers red berries, cherries, plums and raisins, with floral notes, honey and a little oak. On the palate dark fruit meets spice and fine chocolate, with the tannins of the wine casks. The finish is medium to long, balancing fruit, spice and light oak.
