The ninth Chichibu London Edition, a series made exclusively for the UK and first launched at The Whisky Show in 2018. This release is bottled at 50.5%.
It marries 16 casks of single malt, all distilled at Chichibu I: first- and second-fill bourbon barrels together with two wine casks, one from New Zealand and one from California. The label was designed by Raj Chavda of Elixir Distillers and continues the Musha-e theme, showing a warrior confronting a serpent.
The nose is vanilla and honey with whipped cream, grapefruit peel and apricot. The palate is bright and fruit-forward with a soft, creamy texture, and the finish is long.
