Chichibu – The Ten (70cl, 50.5%)

Chichibu The Ten is a limited edition single malt from Chichibu City in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It is bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colour. It is a vatting of about 26 casks, all aged for over 10 years. Most are first-fill Bourbon barrels, alongside Mizunara, sherry and ex-red wine casks. A small portion of peated whisky is included and the whisky is lightly peated overall. The aroma is rich and sweet, and the palate has a honey-like smoothness with a fresh impression of green fruit. The finish is long and satisfying.
