Claxton's Exploration Series Dalmunach 2015 6 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

This is a 6 year old Dalmunach from 2015, bottled in 2021 at 50% ABV in Claxton's Exploration Series, in a 70cl bottle. It is a Speyside single malt. The whisky was matured in a bourbon hogshead and finished in a red wine barrique, which gave an aromatic, clean-tasting dram. The nose is apricots, strawberries, spiced fruity red wine, blueberries and redcurrants. On the palate come spiced mulled wine, strawberries and apricots, with cinnamon bitters and redcurrants in a clean, powerful body. The finish is elegant, tingling and sweetly warming.
