This is Clynelish 12 Years Old, part of Diageo's Special Releases 2022, a series that carried the name Elusive Expressions that year. It is bottled at 58.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in refill American oak and was finished in casks seasoned with Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry.
The nose is sweet and soft, with baked apple, vanilla, caramel, preserved apricots, wax, gentle spice and a hint of wood. The palate follows with apple, apricot, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, ginger, wax and pepper. The finish is medium in length and dry.
