Clynelish – 14 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Clynelish 14 year old is a coastal Highland single malt from the Clynelish Distillery in Brora, Sutherland, built in 1819. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery works with spirit stills that are larger than its wash stills, and a fermentation of around 55 hours brings fruity esters. Natural oils in the faints receiver are cleaned and put back each time, which gives a waxy, mouth-coating palate. Tasting notes describe a waxy palate with complex flavours and smoky undertones.
