Colonel E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Buffalo Trace distillery, here in its 2025 release. It is made from hand-selected barrels and bottled straight from the cask at 63.8% ABV, uncut and unfiltered.
The range is named after Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr., and recalls bourbon as it was made in his time, before Prohibition. The barrels are aged in warehouses built over a century ago.
The nose brings cooked berries, rich caramel and a slightly floral note. The palate is bold and spicy, with toasty vanilla, dried oak and pepper, and the long finish has a strong rye character with lingering fruit.
