Compass Box Crimson Casks (46%)

Crimson Casks is a sherry-led blended malt from Compass Box. Most of the whisky comes from Benrinnes, Glen Moray and a distillery near Aberlour. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The blend includes Oloroso sherry-matured single malts from Glen Moray and the distillery near Aberlour, a bourbon-matured Benrinnes single malt, and a Highland malt blend matured in heavily toasted French oak. Teaninich and Glen Moray aged in sherry butts and red wine barriques are part of it too. The nose has chocolate fudge cake, clove, cardamom, plum jam and redcurrant jelly. The palate brings cherry, toffee, oak, raisin, honey and brown sugar, and the finish is long and warming.
