Compass Box The Double Single – Third Edition (2017)

Compass Box The Double Single is a blended whisky made from just two components: a single malt from Glen Elgin and a single grain from Girvan. This is the third edition, released in 2017, and both whiskies were matured in bourbon casks. The release was limited to 5,838 bottles worldwide. The malt side is described as rich, fruity and honeyed, while the grain whisky is smooth, creamy and led by vanilla. The nose offers citrus, honey, soft vanilla, green apple and light floral notes. On the palate come creamy vanilla, fresh peach, soft oak, citrus oil and a subtle grain sweetness. The finish is long, slightly creamy and fresh.
