This is a 16 year old single malt from BenRiach, distilled in 2005 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Connoisseurs Choice range. The range focuses on the influence of individual casks and maturation styles.
The whisky is described as fruit-driven and Speyside in character.
On the nose there is apple and mango with dark honey, a citrus lift, tropical fruit and soft spice. The palate is sweet and textured, with milk chocolate, poached pears, pineapple and a hint of chilli, balanced by creamy vanilla and gentle nutty oak. The finish is medium, with lingering citrus and almond.
