Cragganmore 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% ABV in a one litre bottle. It is a travel retail edition of the distillery's 12 year old.
Cragganmore was founded by John Smith, who chose the riverside site at Ballindalloch in 1869 for its spring water, Spey water for cooling and the nearby railway. The distillery uses lightly peated malt, long fermentation and worm tubs.
The nose combines sweet floral fragrances, riverside herbs, honey and vanilla. The palate is strongly malty with hints of sweet wood smoke and sandalwood, and the finish is long and malt-driven, with light smoke and a little sweetness.
