Cragganmore – 12 Years Old (70cl, 40%)

Cragganmore 12 Years Old is a single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is gold in colour, with a firm, rounded body, light to medium in weight. The distillery's original owner, John Smith, chose a site high on the Spey, with local barley, fast-flowing river water, peat from the southern uplands and a nearby railway line. In the late 1980s United Distillers chose Cragganmore to represent Speyside in its Classic Malts series. The nose is sweet and floral, with riverside herbs, honey and vanilla. The palate is strongly malty with sweet wood smoke and sandalwood, and the finish is long, malty and lightly smoky.
