Cragganmore – 21 Year Old 1989 (70cl, 56%)

Cragganmore 21 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2010. It was matured in American oak casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 56% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. This is a limited edition of 5,856 individually numbered bottles, and this one is bottle number 8. The nose is soft and sweet, with ripe stone fruit such as yellow peach and mandarin, alongside citrus, honey, vanilla, jasmine, wild flowers, almond and a waxy note of wood and honeycomb. The palate is dense, oily and chewy, with balanced malt sweetness, heather in bloom, dried fruit, white pepper, nutmeg, candied ginger and cardamom. The finish is medium to long, warm and spiced, with balsa wood and vanilla, ending dry from oak tannins.
