Cragganmore Distillers Edition 2020 is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. Cragganmore's flat-topped wash stills are known for an aromatic, intricate spirit.
For this release the malt is given a secondary maturation in seasoned Port wood pipes. The Port finish adds a sweetness and dark-fruited weight to the distillery's herbal notes and faint peat smoke.
The nose combines sweet malt and ripe red berries with damp earth, toasted walnuts, dark chocolate and port wine reduction. The palate is medium-bodied and velvety, with dried fig, damson plum, honeyed barley, oak tannin and faint woodsmoke. The finish is long, with berry tartness, nutmeg and dry oak.
