This is the 2016 Special Release from Cragganmore, a Speyside distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 55.7%. It was the sixth Cragganmore in Diageo's annual series of special releases and carries no age statement.
The whisky matured in three types of cask: refill and rejuvenated American oak hogsheads, and European oak that previously held sherry.
The nose is soft and fresh, with beeswax, then orange peel and damp malt. The palate is smooth with a rich texture, a sweet start and intense dry notes. The finish is long and warming.
