Craigellachie – 13 Year Old Armagnac Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Craigellachie 13 Year Old Armagnac Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It matured first in American oak, then was finished in Armagnac casks. The finish adds dried fruit, spice and sweetness to the distillery's tropical fruit, malt and subtle smoke. The nose has stewed apple, apricot and sultanas with vanilla toffee, honeyed malt and candied orange peel, and a faint savoury note in the background. The palate is full and textured, with dried apricot, fig, plum jam, barley sugar and toffee, then gentle tannins and a wisp of smoke. The finish is medium-long, with dried fruit, soft oak spice and malted biscuit.
