Craigellachie – 13 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a single malt bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) in a 75cl bottle. It was first matured in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, and half of the whisky is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks, the rest in first-fill Bourbon casks. It is described as robust and muscular, with plenty of exotic fruit, and as a malt that departs from the usual Speyside character. The nose recalls Bonfire Night: toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apples studded with cloves, with a faint tang of cordite in the background.
