Craigellachie – 17 Years Old

Craigellachie 17 Years Old is a Speyside single malt matured in a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, toffee and fudge, while the sherry casks add richness and complexity. The distillery's muscular, robust character comes from oil fired malt and worm tub condensers, methods considered old fashioned even in 1891. That full yet aromatic character has made Craigellachie a prized malt for blending since the late 19th century, and it stands apart from the fruity, floral reputation of Speyside whisky.
