Craigellachie – 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Craigellachie 17 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no caramel colouring. The whisky was first matured in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. Half is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks and the rest in first-fill Bourbon casks. The distillery's character is robust and muscular, with a hint of pineapple, which it links to traditional worm tub condensers. Tasting notes describe sweet marmalade, orchard fruit and stewed apples and pears on the nose. The palate is fruity, with green apple, pear and kiwi, and the finish is dry with a nutty cereal note.
