Craigellachie – 13 Years (70cl, 46%)

Craigellachie 13 Years is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and contains no caramel colouring. The whisky is first matured in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. Half of the blend is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks and the rest in first-fill Bourbon casks. The nose recalls Bonfire Night, with toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apples studded with cloves, and a hint of cordite in the background. It is a robust, muscular malt with plenty of exotic fruit.
