Craigellachie 2011 10 Year Old – The Single Malts of Scotland (2022) (70cl, 68.9%)

This is a Craigellachie single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled in February 2022 at ten years old. It comes from Elixir Distillers' The Single Malts of Scotland series. The whisky was matured in an ex-sherry cask and bottled at a cask strength of 68.9%, giving an outturn of 563 bottles. The nose offers dark raisins, smoky malt, caramel and warm spices. On the palate come syrupy sherry, banana, leather and burnt sugar, with a punchy strength. The finish is long and warming, with dry sherry wood.
