Craigellachie – 2011/2024 13 Year Old The Octave #7540775 (Duncan Taylor) (70cl, 54.5%)

This is a single cask Craigellachie from the Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in 2024 at 13 years old. It comes from the independent bottler's Octave series. The whisky matured for twelve years in oak, then spent five months in an ex-sherry octave of about 50 litres, cask number 7540775. It was bottled at a cask strength of 54.5%, without chill-filtration or added colour, and yielded 75 bottles. The nose shows ripe apples, blackberries, candied apricots, malt sweets and nutmeg. The palate is full, with malt biscuits, walnuts, raisins, caramel cream, cherries and cinnamon. The long finish keeps juicy fruit and gentle spice, with a hint of oak.
