Crown Royal – Hand Selected Barrel Canadian Whisky (75cl, 51.5%)

Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel is a single barrel Canadian whisky made from Coffey Rye, one of the whiskies that go into the Crown Royal blend, here bottled on its own. It is distilled on a Coffey column still at the distillery in Gimli, Manitoba, from a mash bill of 64 percent corn, 31.5 percent rye and 4.5 percent malted barley, and matured in new charred oak barrels. It is bottled at 103 proof (51.5%) and pours a rich golden amber. The nose offers sweet apple, fresh oak, mild vanilla, butterscotch and rose petal with baking spice. The palate is creamy and full bodied, with toasted oak, honey, lemongrass and vanilla bean alongside rye spice. The long finish brings toasted oak, caramel, cherry and red grape.
